Abstract

The need for clean and environmentally friendly energy is becoming increasingly important to reduce the impact of fossil fuel usage. One of the most promising sources of renewable energy is the Solar Power Plant (PLTS). However, the efficiency of the electrical power generated by solar panels greatly depends on the direction of incoming sunlight. To address this issue, a real-time automatic solar tracker system has been developed, which can adjust the position of the panels to follow the direction of the sun automatically, thereby maximizing the power output. This community service activity aims to provide socialization and education to students at SMK Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan regarding the concept and benefits of the automatic solar tracker system. The activities were conducted through material presentations, discussions, and Q&A sessions. The topics covered include the basic operation of PLTS, the importance of solar panel efficiency, and the working principle of the automatic sun-tracking system. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge and interest in renewable energy technologies. This activity is expected to raise awareness of the importance of clean energy and serve as an initial step in introducing applied technological innovations in vocational education.
