Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged business actors to adopt online buying and selling practices. However, the implementation of online transactions is often not accompanied by adequate legal understanding, particularly regarding the Law on Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE Law). This condition was also identified among business actors at Ayam Penyet Jakarta (APJ) Restaurant, Ringroad Medan Branch. A lack of understanding of the ITE Law may lead to legal risks in online transactions, potentially harming both business actors and consumers. This activity aims to improve the knowledge and understanding of business actors regarding online buying and selling practices in accordance with the provisions of the ITE Law. The method employed involved several stages, including partner engagement, identification of business conditions, education on e-commerce concepts, guidance on online selling procedures, and digital marketing strategies. Initial results showed that 70% of participants did not understand the ITE Law, while only 30% had basic knowledge. Through systematic counseling and mentoring activities, participants gained understanding of their rights and obligations in electronic transactions, transaction security, and the importance of regulatory compliance. Post-activity evaluation indicated an average score improvement from 31.2 to 75.8, representing a 143% increase. Enhancing legal knowledge related to the ITE Law is expected to support sustainable business development and strengthen consumer trust in online transactions
