Submission Guidelines

Submissions to JOURNAL VORTEKS must be made through the online submission system. There are no strict formatting requirements for initial submissions, as long as the article structure complies with our guidelines (see the manuscript structure section below). Manuscripts that advance to the revision stage will then need to be properly formatted (see the formatting section). This allows authors to focus on the scientific content of their manuscripts while also speeding up article processing times.

By submitting to JURNAL VORTEKS, authors certify that:

  1. The submission is an original work, free from any form of plagiarism (text, data, and images).
  2. The submission has not been published, nor is it under consideration by another journal.
  3. The submission has been approved by all co-authors and relevant authorities (e.g., institutions or sponsors).
  4. The manuscript has been written (to the best of the author's ability) in good English and Indonesian, free of grammatical errors. It has been checked with a proofreading tool (e.g., Grammarly) and, if possible, verified by a language editor.

Author registration.

Authors without a JURNAL VORTEKS account are required to create an account before beginning their submission. Ensure that the “Author” role is selected in the Role menu, otherwise you will not be able to proceed with the submission.

Author data.

Submitting authors must complete the author data during submission. Please ensure that the affiliation address is complete and written exactly as it appears in the manuscript.

Manuscript metadata.

Please complete at least the following information related to the manuscript:

  • Title. Fill in the manuscript title field in sentence case.
  • Abstract. Paste the abstract into the abstract field; ensure that the formatting is consistent with the manuscript (e.g., superscripts and italics).
  • Keywords. Provide a maximum of five words/phrases, separated by semicolons.
  • References. References must be written following the CSE author-date style (the reference style chosen by JURNAL VORTEKS), but with the journal name written in full (not abbreviated). Separate each reference with a blank line.

Cover letter.

In addition to the manuscript and supplementary files, include a brief cover letter stating the importance of the study and the novelty of the results, as well as how it will appeal to JURNAL VORTEKS readers. Authors may optionally suggest two potential reviewers for their manuscript, with no conflicts of interest.

Manuscripts will not be published if they contain elements of race, politics, commercialism, excessive subjectivity, or the glorification or degradation of individuals.

The complete manuscript/article must include:

  • Title
  • Author's name (without title) and email address
  • Name of the institution or institution where the author works
  • Abstract and keywords in Indonesian and English, with the abstract no longer than 200 words
  • Manuscript content (discussion), cover (conclusion), bibliography, and attachments (if any)

Manuscripts/articles must be typed on A4 paper with margins of 30 mm on the left, right, top, and bottom, and typed in Times New Roman font size 11 pt (except for the title), single spaced. The title uses a large Times New Roman 14 pt bold font, and the abstract uses italics. The number of pages is 5-20. The manuscript has been sent to the editor via email.
